SOME DISCLAIMERS YOU SHOULD BE AWARE OF
- There are two traverse cracks in the mast near deck
level. It has been fixed with an e-glass cast, but if it was me, I would
replace it
- The hull was slightly oil-canned in the area of the cradle
pads… it was professionally fixed.
- There was a small area of de-lamination just above the
waterline to starboard, forward… it was professionally fixed.
- The drive shaft fairing, where the shaft goes through the
keel, has been professionally rebuilt (apparently not a structural issue,
but it looked really bad.)
- Upwind sail inventory is Shore brand stuff, and not a good
match for the boat.
- Radio included, but there is no other instrumentation
- On the last PHRF certificate, the SMW and SL dimensions
were reversed, so the rating may not be correct.
ON THE PLUS SIDE:
- This is a fast boat… as fast as you will ever get for the
money.
- It is a legitimate grand-prix design… won’t compete with
modern grand-prix boats, but it is still a boat that responds well to
skillful sailing.
- The motor is a Bukh…. smoothest diesel I have ever seen.
- The sails are not THAT bad; you can replace them
gradually.
- The boat looks good.
